A research agenda at the interface of Mathematics and AI

The research agenda covers the use of probabilistic methods and probabilistic reasoning within AI. This will include the use of probabilistic algorithms to fit AI models; the use of probability-based models within AI; and the use of probability to quantify uncertainty in AI predictions.

Building the UK community in probabilistic AI

The Prob_AI Hub will have a range of events highlighting open research problems in AI which need input from the mathematical sciences, and catalysing new cross-disciplinary research partnerships. The Hub also has funding available to help develop new networks and collaborations and to facilitate discipline-hopping into probabilistic AI

Engagement with Industry

The Hub aims to engage widely with industry and other users of AI, with initial support for the Hub in excess of £1M from over ten project partners. This will include a range of engagement and knowledge exchange events, joint PhD projects and internships.
